Over 2,000 Temporary Census Jobs Available

Temporary jobs registration for the 2021 Population Census is underway and there are more than 3,700 successful registrations as at this morning (23 February).

The 2021 Population Census is going to be conducted in August this year and the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) will need more than 2,000 temporary workers to assist in data collection and other routine work. Online application for temporary census jobs is open and the application procedure is simple. Applicants must be permanent residents of the Macao SAR, aged 18 or over by 1 July 2021, fluent in Cantonese, with secondary education or above (Macao students studying elsewhere are also eligible). To take part in the census work, please apply online at DSEC’s thematic website “2021 Population Census” (https://www.dsec.gov.mo/Censos2021) and complete a simple online test. Applicants who pass the test may schedule an online pre-recorded video interview.

As DSEC received keen response during the Lunar New Year holiday and the interview system is almost fully booked, the application period is now extended to 6 p.m. on 12 March to allow sufficient time for applicants to schedule an interview. Eligible applicants may fill in the online application form and schedule a time for the test and the interview. Moreover, DSEC would like to remind applicants who have completed the form but have not yet taken the test to complete the test as soon as possible and schedule an interview.

The decennial Population Census offers invaluable work experience. Apply now to join the Census team!
